Savannah Construction Begins – A New Landmark Project at Orientarium ZOO Łódź

The Łódź Zoo is keeping up its momentum and pushing forward with ambitious growth. Work has officially begun on the first stage of its newest investment – a pair of expansive enclosures designed to recreate the unique landscapes of the African semi-desert and savannah.

Thanks to its bold and consistent development strategy, Orientarium ZOO Łódź was recently named Tourist Product of the Year 2024. But the zoo isn’t stopping there – it continues to evolve, with a strong focus on wildlife conservation and visitor education.

The new savannah exhibit will be the first of its kind in Poland. A wooden footbridge will stretch above the enclosures, offering guests a chance to experience the animals up close – even standing eye-to-eye with a giraffe.

Construction is now underway on the first phase: a stable for hoofed animals. Once that’s complete, the next steps include expanding and connecting the enclosures and building the footbridge. The entire project is scheduled for completion before the summer holidays in 2026.

The project is being carried out by Strabag, a company that has long partnered with the city on major developments, including the Łódź Summer Festival.
