The Łódź ZOO Orientarium will host representatives of the best zoos in Europe!

The Łódź Zoo has been selected to host the EAZA conference in 2025. In two years’ time, representatives of the most significant zoos in Europe will meet in Łódź.

EAZA stands for European Association of Zoos and Aquaria. This organisation brings together more than 300 European zoos. In Poland, only 11 belong to the Association. Being part of it is a mark of quality. Zoos and aquariums belonging to the Association achieve and maintain the highest standards of animal care. The Łódź ZOO Orientarium is one of the members of this organisation, and this year, after many inspections and checks, the Łódź Zoo received another five-year accreditation to this association.

Every year, EAZA meets for a joint conference. Many years ago, such meetings were already organised by zoos in Warsaw and Wrocław. Now, the most important representatives of European zoological gardens will come to Łódź. This is an important event for us and for our city, says Krzysztof Babij, Vice President of the Łódź ZOO Orientarium. – directors, specialists and people who deal with security issues will be hosted with us. They will all come to Łódź to discuss the future of zoos, the development of education, the most important aspects regarding wildlife rescue, safety, etc. This is an extremely crucial event for the future of zoos across Europe.
